A few brief facts about RMTI:

The Rocky Mountain Theological Institute, founded in February of 2004, actually began in the Spring of 2003, as the "Pikes Peak Region Lay Ministry Training Program," under the Lay Ministry (now referred to as: "Licensed Deacon") / D.E.L.T.O. Training Program of the Rocky Mountain District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

We provide in-depth education and training for lay people at a level not often possible in a congregational setting.

We work to partner with pastors and congregations seeking to teach, train, and equip lay people for mission and ministry in God's kingdom.

We use the solid foundation of Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions throughout our curriculum.

13 courses have been developed, and are offered within a rotating schedule. Additional classes are being developed.

Courses are held primarily on Saturdays in 3 hour blocks of time. (9 a.m. to Noon & 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

Class sizes are kept small (approximately14 students maximum) to encourage student discussion and involvement.

Online instruction and interactive participation is under development, with the goal of enabling those living in remote areas to participate fully.

We use ordained Lutheran pastors (both active and retired) as instructors.

We have high levels of expectations for our instructors and for our students. Instructors are encouraged to teach at a College/Seminary level, and to grade the students accordingly.

Students gain knowledge and skills useful for ministry in their local congregations, and for service in God's kingdom at large.

We are in the process of filing to become a Colorado non-profit corporation and a Federal 501(c)(3) organization.

"The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists,

some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God,

to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ."

(Ephesians 4:11-13)
